SSU proves fiscal excellence with ‘very satisfactory’ rating in DBM’s 2024 performance review

CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines—Samar State University (SSU) has once again proven its strong fiscal and institutional stewardship after receiving a “Very Satisfactory” rating of 4.30 in the 2024 Annual Performance Review (APR) steered by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

The Annual Performance Review evaluates all State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the country based on budget utilization, program implementation, and overall developmental outcomes. A rating of 4.30 affirms SSU’s ability to efficiently manage public resources while delivering on its mandate of quality education, research productivity, and community service.

For SSU, the ‘very satisfactory’ rating reflects meaningful outcomes in areas along improved learning environments, high research productivity, and responsive community programs. The university’s performance also resonates with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) along Goal #4: Quality Education, Goal #8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal #9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and Goal #16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

With this commendable mark, SSU joined the roster of SUCs nationwide that exemplify “efficiency, accountability, and service” as per DBM.
